A: With an original Eckstein water softener, a water hardness of max. 0°d.H. can be achieved (lime-free).

A: Of course you can still drink the water; it is drinking water. Unless you are operating the system with service water from your own well instead of drinking water as usual.
A: No, the salt is only used to backwash the filter granulate. There is no direct connection between the salt and the drinking water.

A: To ensure reliable operation, all safety devices on the system and the tightness of the connection must be inspected at regular intervals and cleaned or serviced as necessary. The exact scope of inspection and maintenance is specified in the operating instructions. The regular inspection and maintenance work can be carried out by the user. In addition, the water hardness and amount of salt used should be checked regularly.
A: Yes, that is possible and even interest-free.
A: Yes, the system requires this for backwashing.
A: Generally speaking, no. The system is capable of pumping wastewater upwards by 10 metres.
A: A fine filter is not essential for the operation of the system, but is generally recommended for filtering coarse dirt particles.
A: Yes and no. The system itself can operate at a maximum inlet pressure of 8 bar. However, a maximum pressure of 6 bar is recommended for domestic installations, especially for heating systems.
A: Water softening reduces calcium and magnesium, which are usually obtained from other foods, e.g. dairy products such as yoghurt and quark.
A: No, if the system is used continuously, standing water cannot form. Backwashing with salt also cleans the granulate during each regeneration cycle.
